Rolling Sun Book Festival
Welcome to the Rolling Sun Book Festival, Westport, County Mayo
Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th October 2025

Each October, the beautiful town of Westport transforms into a buzzing hub of creativity, conversation, and celebration as the Rolling Sun Book Festival brings stories to life on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Rolling Sun Book Festival has grown into one of Ireland’s most distinctive literary festivals — warm, welcoming, and full of heart. Set against the stunning backdrop of Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick, this is a festival that feeds the soul as much as the mind.

Over the past decade and a half, we’ve been proud to welcome some of the most inspirational voices in arts and literature to Westport — from unforgettable sell-out events with Ruby Wax, Stephen Rea, Colum McCann, and Paul Lynch to a powerful appearance by the late, great Robert Fisk, whose insights still echo with relevance today.
Writers, poets, playwrights, journalists, musicians, and artists have all brought their unique energy to our stages — sparking conversations, laughter, and moments that stay with you long after the festival ends.
